Blackheath Halls Orchestra are excited to be playing Holst’s The Planets this Autumn – a fabulous and ambitious piece.
Rehearsing from Wed 9 Oct we will be working towards presenting two concerts on Sun 24 Nov.
Performance 1 at 4pm Aga Serugo Lugo will present this family concert. The concert will last approximately 45 minutes and Aga will present three of the planets from the suite with a narrative to engage a family audience. We will also be joined by a Primary School group who will present their composition inspired by The Planets
Performance 2 at 7pm The orchestra will perform the full suite as well as The Needles, a short overture by Matthew Taylor in celebration of his 60th birthday

As a very large orchestra is required to play this piece, we are looking for more players to come and join us for this exciting project.
We need to recruit:
1 x Contrabassoon
2 x French horns
2 x trumpets
1 x bass trombone
1 x tenor tuba
1 x bassoon
