Great Hall
Took place on WED 8 NOV - SAT 11 NOV

The celebratory 50th anniversary festival of the London International Festival of Early Music.

The world’s largest early music fair will be at Blackheath Halls for the daytime exhibition; a vibrant market place, attracting instrument makers from around the globe with shops, music publishers, recording companies, societies and forums all gathered under one roof.

Recitals will be held at the church of St Michael & All Angels just up the road on Blackheath Common for the evening concerts, which this year range from a solo recital, by harpsichord virtuoso Jane Chapman to not one, but two orchestral programmes given by the OAE Experience Ensemble, and the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra with Erik Bosgraaf.

The festival opener on 8 Nov is provided by Ensemble Pampinea, winner of the 2022 LIFEM Young Ensemble Competition then our concert programme is completed by organist William Whitehead, whose solo lunchtime recital on 9 Nov represents a festival first.
