Blackheath Halls runs a thriving Community Engagement Programme that offers people of all ages and all levels of ability the opportunity to work with first-class professional performers and creative teams, to learn new skills and to perform in ensemble productions in our historic building in front of large audiences.
Current Community Engagement Projects
The Blackheath Halls Community Opera is a successful project that has been running since 2007: a large, cross-generational company learn about opera by being immersed in a fully staged, professionally led production. The combination of professional artists and performers with vocal students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and local community members makes this project unique.
In 2013 we launched an annual children’s opera for younger participants, based on the same principals.
Singers of all levels of experience are given the opportunity to participate in a number of vocal projects.
Our two orchestras rehearse and perform throughout the year at Blackheath Halls

“It was a privilege to have been part of this project which ranks amongst the most memorable events of my life.”
